Live Vietnamese Red Dragon Fruit Plant
Grow your own premium Vietnamese Red Dragon Fruit with a healthy, rooted plant approximately 1–2 ft (30–60 cm) in height. Each plant is propagated from a mature, productive mother plant, ensuring it is a true-to-type genetic clone of the original variety for consistent growth, fruit quality, and performance.
Grown locally in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, our dragon fruit plants are cultivated without the use of synthetic pesticides, insecticides, or chemical fertilizers. Vietnamese Red is prized for its striking bright red skin, deep red flesh, and naturally sweet flavor. This vigorous climbing cactus grows rapidly under warm conditions and can provide abundant harvests for many years with proper care.
Pollination:
Vietnamese Red is self-fertile (self-pollinating) and is capable of producing fruit without requiring a second dragon fruit variety. Although cross-pollination is not required, it may improve fruit set and increase yields under ideal growing conditions.
Watering:
Dragon fruit does not tolerate excessive watering and may develop root rot if kept constantly wet. Allow the soil to partially dry between waterings. Moderate watering is recommended, particularly during periods of active growth.
Temperature:
Dragon fruit thrives in warm climates and performs best at temperatures above 5°C (40°F). Protect young plants from frost and prolonged exposure to cold temperatures.
Soil:
Plant in a well-draining cactus or succulent mix. Dragon fruit performs best in full sun, warm temperatures, and soil with excellent drainage.
Care Tips:
After receiving your plant, place it in a shaded location for several days to help it recover from shipping before gradually introducing it to direct sunlight.
As the plant grows, transplant it into a larger container or permanent location with a sturdy trellis or support structure. With adequate sunlight, nutrition, and support, mature dragon fruit plants become highly productive and can provide reliable harvests for many years.
