Dragon fruit is a fast-growing climbing cactus that can quickly establish itself under warm conditions and proper care.
Watering:
Dragon fruit does not tolerate excessive watering and may develop root rot if kept constantly wet. Allow the soil to partially dry between waterings. Moderate watering is recommended.
Temperature:
Dragon fruit thrives in warm climates and performs best in temperatures above 5°C (40°F). Protect cuttings from frost and prolonged cold weather.
Soil:
Use a well-draining cactus or succulent mix. Dragon fruit performs best in full sun, warm temperatures, and soil with good drainage.
Care Tips:
Place the cutting in a dry, warm location for approximately one week to allow the cut end to form a callus.
Once the callus has formed, plant the cutting with the cut end buried a few inches into well-draining soil. Water lightly until roots begin to develop.
